Hello, Star Players!
My motivation to keep my writing pen sharp comes from a famous line in one of my all time favorite films, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” The film is set in 1961. During a late night visit, Holly presses her neighbor Paul on whether he’s a serious writer or not. Paul mentions his last publication was from 1956. Holly, in shock responds, “this may be a ratty question, but what have you written lately?” This four minute scene is my accountability partner to consistently publish my writing.
For October, here are three pieces I want to highlight for your enjoyment. As always, thanks for taking the time to read and I welcome your spirited comments and reactions!
1. “The Money I Need is Making Its Way Towards Me At Rapid Speed.” 💰️
This is the monthly blog post is inspired by this card pick from CCC Tiny Book of Affirmations. It’s all about slowing your energy down to be a congruent match with the current of currency. Let me know in the comments your thoughts on the power of stillness
2. “Silence of the Sirens” 🧜♀️
This piece was entered into a Halloween themed micro-fiction Horror writing contest on Vocal Media. Wish me luck! Results drop in a few days. Regardless of the outcome, I’m thrilled to share my love and obsession with mermaid folklore. Read on to see the price villagers in South Africa must pay to remain in good graces with Mami Wata.
3. “One Less Broken Heart On The Block” 🎧️
This piece was my submission into Midnight & Indigo’s Music Issue. I found out last week it was not accepted- oh well. It’s still an honor to put my work out there and now to share it with you.
