September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to acknowledge the gravity of mental health struggles and to offer support and compassion to those who are affected. As someone who has personally experienced the devastating loss of a loved one to suicide, I understand the profound impact that this tragedy can have on individuals and families.

My brother's passing has fueled my passion to spread positivity and hope. One of the most significant challenges I've faced is survivor's guilt, the lingering belief that I could have done more to prevent his loss. While I cannot change the past, I am committed to using my experiences to help others.

The CCC Tiny Book of Affirmations cards are a tool I've created to offer support and encouragement to those who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts or recovering from an attempt. These cards are designed to inspire and challenge negative narratives, reminding individuals of their inherent worth and lovability.

Recent studies have shown that affirmations can have a positive impact on mental health. By energizing brain regions associated with self-related processing and rewards, affirmations can reduce anxiety and enhance mood, especially when paired with exercise.

If I could go back in time, I would have given my brother a deck of affirmation cards. While I cannot change the past, I can strive to bring hope to others in the present. If you or someone you know could benefit from a small reminder of their worth, our affirmation cards may be the perfect fit.
