The recent, senseless raids in Chicago have shaken our community to its core, serving as a stark reminder of the critical need for empowerment and liberation. The images of scantily clad children dragged into U-Haul trucks and separated from their mothers are truly heartbreaking. In the wake of this heinous government behavior, I want to share three foundational truths about freedom and liberation.

1. First, Freedom and Liberation are our birthright. This truth is a core principle of our work at Celestial Content Creations (CCC). The establishment does not grant us freedom, so it cannot take it away. We were all born free, and the Chicago citizens deserve to exist peacefully, reconnected with their rights. This is why affirmations are so vital. When the world tries to diminish your inherent worth, holding onto this truth is a powerful act of resistance.

   

2. Second, One cannot expect the oppressor to initiate the liberation process of the oppressed. Many were promised big things, but the preverbal boot remains on our necks. Innocent children, law-abiding citizens like a detained U.S. resident , and others were swept up by the long arm of the law they seek protection from. Mayor Brandon Johnson and Governor JB Pritzker have rightly condemned this federal response, calling it dangerous and not making the city safer. Enough said.

3. Finally, as Assata Shakur taught us, "It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win." Nights like the one in Chicago must not become commonplace. This is America, and the establishment is on payroll for us. Would you ransack your boss’s home? Drag them into the street and snatch up the kids? No. So, it shouldn't be happening on our watch from an establishment we fund with the express responsibility to serve and protect us.
