Hello, Star Players! We're thrilled to share the success of our recent mental health workshop at the Texas Alliance for Black School Educators (TABSE) conference in Galveston! It was an honor to connect with middle and high school students from across the state, empowering them to use their voices to advocate for their mental well-being.

Our workshop, "Using the Power of Your Voice to Advocate for Your Mental Health," provided students with tools and resources to:

• Define mental health and mental health challenges

• Identify effective communication strategies

• Access free 24/7 national and local mental health support resources

The highlight of the workshop was the interactive activity where students practiced distinguishing between helpful and unhelpful communication styles. We also emphasized the power of positive affirmations with our card, "Every time I use my voice, I win."
