✨🎵Black Women Lead the Rise of Uplifting "Affirmation Music"🎵✨

Hello, Star Players! This week, we stumbled upon an inspiring article in the Michigan Chronicle about a powerful new wave in music: Affirmation Music. Led by Black women artists, this genre is all about creating music that's not just catchy, but also uplifting and therapeutic.

The article highlights the incredible work of artists like Toni Jones, Lavva, Geminelle, and Coax Marie. These talented women are using their voices to help listeners heal and find self-love through powerful lyrics and positive messages.

Toni Jones, the Queen of Affirmation Music

This resonated deeply with us at Celestial Content Creations, because our mission is all about creating content that empowers and inspires. We actually use a similar approach in our guided meditations! We combine affirmations with soothing melodies created using crystal sound bath bowls and other instruments.

Ready to experience the power of music and affirmations for yourself? Check out our latest YouTube video below! It's designed to help our Star Players (that's YOU!) unwind and drift off to a peaceful sleep.

P.S. If you are in the music industry in a production capacity and have some beats that would pair well with affirmations, feel free to purchase a deck of cards and tag us in your creation! We’ d love to support this movement of affirmation music any way we can.

✨ Inspiration from the Archives: Advice for Minority Professionals in “Empower Now”

This week, we're taking a trip down memory lane! While digging through our community partnership archives, we unearthed a hidden gem that's particularly relevant for all the working professionals out there.

Back in 2017, I had the incredible honor of being a contributing author to an inspirational book titled "Empower Now" by the magnificent Xavier Alumnae & Legend, Amber Robins, MD, MBA. This fantastic resource spotlights the journeys to success of 14 young minority Black professionals. Through their captivating stories, you'll witness firsthand how they overcame challenges and ultimately achieved their dreams. Filled with practical tips, inspiring quotes, and valuable life lessons, "Empower Now" covers diverse fields like medicine, education, engineering, and dentistry. It serves as a powerful reminder that just like these individuals, you too have the power to achieve your goals!

At the time, I was navigating the fast-paced world of corporate America at Viacom Nickelodeon. Chapter 2 of the book features my personal experiences, highlighting valuable lessons I learned (sometimes the hard way!).

Here are three key takeaways I shared to guide the next generation of professionals:

  1. Interpersonal Relationships are Key, Be Relatable - Open Up: Building strong connections with colleagues is crucial. Don't be afraid to show your personality and foster genuine relationships.

  2. Age Ain't Nothing But a Number - Respect the Hierarchy at All Times: While age may not define expertise, respectful communication goes a long way. Acknowledge formal structures and navigate them with professionalism.

  3. There Will Always Be Edits - Keep Calm and Revise: Feedback is an opportunity for growth. Remain composed, learn from the suggestions, and revise your work with a positive outlook.

If you're looking for a dose of inspiration and practical advice for navigating the corporate world, "Empower Now" is a must-read.
